Rhine’s yoga workshop is the first workshop of the programme. As a disabled BIPOC led society, we feel you, and so we have devised a programme of workshops over the next few months. As an artist and yoga instructor that identifies as POC and disabled, Rhine will guide us through subtle yoga and breathing exercises that aim to expel mental exhaustion, fatigue, overwhelming emotions and pressure.Īs disabled students, we are experiencing more difficulties than non-disabled students, yet this has not been a priority for UAL. In this collaboration between DIVA and Arts Active, we will introduce you to slow, soft and gentle yoga and breathing exercises built around Rhine Bernardino’s practice which ensures inclusivity and accessibility are the forefront. She utilises her experience with chronic illness to ensure her yoga sessions are built with access at its heart. When DIVA use the term ‘disabled’ we also refer to neurodivergence, chronic illness, mental health, D/deaf and Hard of Hearing, Blind and visually impaired, and so on.
